LISNAMURRICAN YFC members have
celebrated the club’s 80th ann-iversary with an 80 mile cycle around County Antrim.
In spite of a few early morning showers, members Michael Marshall and David Johnston got the event off to a good start by pedalling out from the club hall at Broughshane and making their way to the first stop at Glarryford.
Other members took over in relays, making their way through the Antrim countryside and visiting numerous other clubs along the way.
The current restrictions on social gatherings meant the club was unable to mark its anniversary with an indoor
event but club leader Matthew Moorehead says the cycle ride proved a great alter-native.
“After a few showers in the morning the sun broke through and by the time the riders made it back to the finishing point in Broughshane, the home of Lisnamurrican YFC, it was a glorious autumn day – perfect for cycling through the countryside.”
All proceeds from the cycle will be going towards the Macmillan unit in Antrim.
