FROM a frosty, foggy morning to an afternoon of glorious sunshine, Saturday was the perfect day for showjumping to continue at the Meadows.
It was certainly a day for the ladies, with all six of the placings in the 1.30m class being filled by the finest female athletes in the region. Winning the 1.30m on the day was Ellie Humpries onboard Toni Quail`s Ringfort Rua. Taking second on this occasion was Niamh McEvoy with her father Richard’s Lisboy Louie.
Showjumping continues this weekend with classes from 80cms on offer once more. These showjumping days provide the perfect opportunity before the Meadows Spring Championships at the end of April.
Classes during the Spring Championships will include Irish Sport Horse Studbook classes for 5, 6 and 7 year old horses born in Ireland as well as the 1.40m SJI National Grand Prix.
