Advanced Proteins, the by-product arm of ABP, has taken over the Staffordshire-based John Pointon and Sons animal by-products and proteins business.
The family-owned English company, which has been operating for more than 40 years, is the largest single-site by-product and pet food ingredient supplier in the UK.
The business, with a capacity of 400,000 metric tonnes and a workforce of more than 200 people, was sold for an undisclosed sum.
