A charity drive of harness horses in aid of the Air Ambulance Northern Ireland Charity, organised by Moneyreagh based William Crothers, proved a major success on Sunday, August 21, with the event in previous years also having supported multiple local charities.
The event attracted drivers and horses from across the country, with cross-channel visitors also attending. The local community turned out in force to support the attraction, with many youngsters getting their first opportunity to get up close and personal with equines and the chance of a ride in the traditional traps – several of which, despite their age, turned out in pristine condition.
The route of the drive, which started and ended at the Moneyreagh Community Centre, travelled via roads into Ballygowan before returning to the staging point. Credit to the organisers and Tracy Crothers and her team, who supplied an excellent array of food and beverages for all ages at the conclusion of afternoon.
