THERE was the usual large attendance as the traditional end of the local vintage season again turned out to be one of the highlights of the year at the annual Corn Threshing and Vintage Day at McKibbin Brothers, Killyless Road, Cullybackey.
The event had been scaled down slightly in 2021 due to Covid, but this time it was back to business as usual with a return of the lawnmower racing and indoor entertainment, provided by Philip Strange and Charmaine Edwards.
Anyone who has been there will know that McKibbin Brothers at Killyless Road is a real ‘Aladdin’s cave’, with a large array of vintage cars, tractors, lorries, motorcycles, steam and stationary engines. There were also blacksmith, stonebreaker, woodcutting and threshing demonstrations.
The proceeds were in aid of the Diamond Primary School, where John McKibbin’s daughter Emma is a teacher.
