Following on from the recent success of the Poultry Fair at the Belmont House Hotel, Rathfriland Road, Banbridge, the organisers have arranged another event on Saturday, August 28, from 9am to 1pm.
This is a much needed fair as many poultry keepers have surplus stock at this time of the year.
If you are looking to replace or add birds to your collection, or thinking about keeping poultry, this is a great place to start.
You will be able to see a whole range of different pure bred birds in both standard and bantam sizes, domestic and ornamental waterfowl, as well as hybrid fowl which are bred for laying.
If you are considering obtaining birds at this event please bring along a suitable box or cage for transporting your birds home.
If bringing birds to this poultry fair please contact the Belmont House Hotel to book a place.
This is an enjoyable few hours out with the chance to look around a great range of different breeds and equipment for your birds and partake of light refreshments supplied by the hotel.
The best news, however, is that the poultry fair organisers have decided to run a poultry auction on Saturday, October 2, at the Belmont House Hotel.
This is wonderful, especially in the current landscape when poultry sales and auctions have been cancelled.
This will give the pure bred poultry community an opportunity to let quality birds go to auction after being judged and poultry keepers will be able to obtain these quality birds.
As well as poultry there is a section for caged birds, rabbits and cavies, which will be great for all, especially children, to see.
Applications for this auction can be obtained from the Facebook Banbridge Poultry Fair site.
Entries are made to the Belmont House Hotel and the schedule and application form are attached to this poultry page.
I’m definitely looking forward to these days out and hope to see you all there.
