SUNDAY, September 17 starts the always popular Autumn Dressage League at Ardnacashel Equestrian in Comber.
This year’s league is very kindly sponsored by Belmont Equine – an Irish company, which manufactures and supplies of wholefood and nutrition supplements for equines and is the vision of Dr Richard McCormick. Dr McCormick practices as an equine focused veterinarian (duel licensed in USA and Ireland/ the UK). His passion in supporting animals through balanced and optimal nutrition is central to his work. He is passionate about ‘wholefoods’, having seen the benefits in both animals and their humans.
With two side by side 20m by 40m marked arenas within the international-sized fibre surface arena, under the watchful eyes of Dressage Ireland approved judges, there is a class for everyone.
Starting from the new Assisted Intro class, aimed at the youngest competitors on lead rein right up to Elementary, all classes use British Dressage approved tests, which vary from week to week. Returning this year is the very popular four and five-year-old class, which is held towards the end of the day, when things quieten down a bit for competitors to get their young horses out into a calm competition environment for valuable mileage.
The league runs over six weeks, running on Sundays, September 11, 18 and 25, October 9 and 16, with the final on Sunday, October 23. Competitors must complete a total of four weeks to include the final to be in with a chance to win some of the fabulous prizes, which include beautiful Premier Equine embroidered travel rugs and saddle cloths.
And, as if all this isn’t enough, competitors and spectators can come to the on site catering Ella’s Kitchen, where they can sample the selection of breakfast baps, home-made sausage and delicious home baked goodies!
