WORD is out that you’ll be in the money winning your class at Ardnacashel Equestrian’s Summer Cash Jumping League. Competitors who are in the top placings are leaving delighted with their prize money, with some nearly doubling their entry free back!
On Sunday, July 10, competitors flocked to Comber to try and be in the money, starting with the cross-poles, where Mia Lynn took home some pocket money with ‘Tom’.
Holly McCarroll moved up the classes this week with her lovely pony ‘Zara’; this combination have previously been successful winning their first ever dressage league at Ardnacashel. The move to 50cm proved no challenge for Holly, who had a lovely double clear, winning some cash into the bargain!
Another regular, Alex Hemsley with her bay gelding ‘Vinnie’ took first and the cash in the 70cm Junior and 80cm Junior classes. Alex is an avid supporter of jumping leagues at Ardnacashel, rarely missing a week and also rarely out of the prizes, so was more than happy to take some money home for all her hard work!
In a large 80cm Senior class, another Ardnacashel regular Suzanne Davis on ‘Hayden’s Star’ bagged the top prize and was delighted with her winnings. Suzanne never lacks the competitive spirit or a speed turn!
Another regular speedy combination in the form of Sophie Price and ‘Molly’ took the red rosette in a large 90cm class – another combination who love the challenge of competing against the clock.
Moving up the heights, in the 1m class Lucy Toombs with ‘Ice’ took the red rosette, with local Ellie McDowell and ‘Roscrib Ladybird’ winning the 1.10m and another regular Victoria Mullen winning the 1.20m with ‘Flamenco’.
