A record crowd of more than 30,000 people descended on Armagh city to celebrate the riches of its unique history, heritage and architectural beauty as part of a five-day Georgian extravaganza. With the most extensive programme ever assembled in its 16-year history, organiser Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council confirmed that visitors had flocked from right across the borough, the island of Ireland and beyond to attend the award-winning heritage-themed festivities.

The now five-day festival, which has welcomed thousands of new and regular visitors since it was established in 2004, kicked off last Wednesday with the highly anticipated space-themed Robinson Lecture at the Armagh Planetarium, extending the traditional annual event by an extra day before wrapping up Sunday.
