Autumn SJI Series sees good turnout at The Meadows

SATURDAY, September 3 saw the continuation of the Meadows Autumn Show jumping Series – a good turnout was had, despite the damp and drizzly conditions.

Whilst it was nice to see some lovely new combinations starting off their SJI careers, Saturday also saw many combinations trying to qualify for the Northern Ireland Horse Board Mares Development Series.

The 1.20m class had some stiff competition; the quick turns of Tyrone Flanagan with Ruairi Holmes’s ‘Figaro IV’ saw him steal the lead from Barry McCormack with Michelle McElhatton’s mare ‘Ludo’s Promise’.

The SJI Autumn league will recommence on Saturday, October 8, with three very big weekends coming up at the Meadows: Saturday, September 10 sees the TRI Equestrian and SJI Autumn Pony Tour come to the Meadows; September 17 sees the first leg of the popular Inter-Schools’ league and September 24 and 25 is the Meadows Autumn Horse Championships that will also host the finals of the NIHB Mares Development Series.
