THE Young Farmers’ Clubs of Ulster President Zita McNaugher has launched the annual YFCU President’s Charity Appeal and is urging young farmers all over the province to take part in a Virtual Mood Walk on September 6 in aid of AWARE. The Virtual Mood Walk challenges members to walk 5km and donate £5.
AWARE is an extremely relevant charity for the YFCU, the largest rural youth organisation in Northern Ireland to be supporting. AWARE focuses on depression and bi-polar disorder by organising support groups, alongside delivering mental health and well-being programmes into communities, schools, colleges, universities and workplaces.
Zita McNaugher commented, “Young Famers are known for being very charitable and last year instead of donating money, clubs donated time to their communities.
“Our association experienced a very tragic event back in March 2020 and due to this I have picked AWARE as our charity for this season. AWARE is the depression charity for Northern Ireland which focuses on education and providing support to people on the illness of depression. To raise funds for the charity, I am asking you the members to join me in taking part in a virtual Mood Walk on 6th September 2020.”
