Beautiful weather and big numbers for Gransha show

THE August Bank Holiday Horse and Pony Show at Gransha Equestrian Centre, Bangor enjoyed beautiful weather on both Saturday and Sunday.

The ponies turned out in big numbers on Saturday and riders enjoyed the superb courses built by Simon Jackson in the Working Hunter Ring. The judge Michael Hearty, from Galway, was delighted with the high quality of competitors and had little pep talks with the few who were having any difficulties.

In the Ridden Pony ring, Jenny Bell assisted Mike Lewis to bring forward top winners from a wide field of stunning ponies in the morning classes.

Jan and Phoebe Beaumont took over in the afternoon and were delighted to see such stunning ponies and well-polished riding in the tiny tots classes.

On Sunday, the Ridden horses were judged and ridden by Reah Magee, who made a beautiful job of each and every horse she sat on! Again the standard was top class and the horses were beautifully turned out and presented.

In the Working Hunter ring, the fences went up and the course was equivalent to any English County Show standard. Simon Jackson (course builder) excelled himself and the riders really appreciated the amount of work he had put in to design such a stunning course!

All in all, the weekend was a great success and a big thank you is owed to the sponsor, Equine Awards NI for the beautiful prizes and trophies!
