Beef CATTLE field day

50 Oct 28 1969 Beef SM Farm

Ninety young farmers took part in the annual beef cattle field day, organised by the Young Farmers’ Clubs of Ulster at the Ministry of Agriculture Research Station, Loughgall, last Thursday.

During the morning farm walk, conducted by Mr A M Gregg, the young farmers were given an opportunity to see the new experimental farm and the practices being carried out by the Ministry in beef cattle breeding and management.

The beef cattle judging trials, held during the afternoon, served as a basis for the selection of two Young Farmers’ Club members to represent Northern Ireland in the beef cattle section of the YFC British Isles rally to be held by Scotland next year.
