THE British Equestrian Trade Association (BETA) has opened its 2023 Calendar Competition and is calling on the equestrian community to send over their best images.
Each year, BETA releases a calendar containing 12 images provided by the equestrian community featuring horses. The photographer who provides the image judged ‘best in show’ also receives a luxury hamper to enjoy.
“We’re really pleased to be launching this competition and we love seeing the entries come in,” says Claire Williams, Executive Director of BETA. “Being able to see horses, scenery, sports and more through other people’s eyes is always a real treat, and the calendar provides 12 glimpses of this throughout the year.”
This is the seventh year that BETA has run the calendar competition and the judges are excited to see this year’s entries. With people’s ever-improving photography skills thanks to better phones and creating content for social media, it’s set to be a great year.
“It’s never been easier to capture those amazing moments with your horse, or other horses, and we’re delighted to be able to share the top 12 in the calendar,” says Claire.
The rules are simple. All images submitted must have been taken by the entrant, who is not a professional photographer – images taken by a third party must not be submitted. All images must be at least 2MB in size, a minimum size of 150mm x 115mm and 300dpi, and should be equestrian themed. Full details of the competition and the full rules can be found at www.beta-uk.org.
All images should be emailed to info@beta-uk.org and must include the entrant’s name, age, address and a description of what is being shown in the image. The closing date is Monday, September 19.
