cester section is hold-ing its National Show at Randox Antrim Show on Saturday, July 28, at Shane’s Castle Estate, Antrim.

TRIO: Border Leicester lambs

John Barrowman, Stranraer, will have the task of judging this prestigious event. Classes include aged ram, shearling ram, ram lamb, aged ewe, hogg, ewe lamb and group of three with a Male and Female Champion and Overall Champion.

The URBA Border Leicester sheep section goes back over 100 years when it held its first breed sale in Robson’s Mart, Belfast, on September 3, 1915.

The Carnew Flock, owned by the Aiken family of Dromara, County Down, showed at that sale and will be showing again at the National Show along with other members.
