CATALOGUES are available for the forthcoming Dungannon Dairy Sale on Thursday, November 21.
Taaffe Auctions has confirmed a bumper entry of 158 head, which includes 113 fresh calved heifers and young cows, eight springing heifers, 30 bulling heifers and seven heifer calves.
The pre-sale show, sponsored by Danske Bank, gets underway at 10.30am, and is in the capable hands of Paul Dunn from the Dunbanard Herd based in Bangor.
The auction will commence at 11.30am sharp.
First into the salering will be a batch of seven heifer calves from George and Jason Booth’s Beechview Herd. They are sired by top AI bulls Rager Red, King Doc, Diamondback and Unix.
The milking portion of the catalogue boasts entries from leading herds such as Ardmore, Bannwater, Beechview, Bloomhill, Carrowcroft, Drumard, Drumgoon, Dunban-ard, Edenordinary, Garaba, Hilltara, Kilvergan, Relough, and commercial females from Stephen Greenaway.
Included in the sale are 26 fresh heifers and cows from the ongoing dispersal of the Moree Herd owned by Bertie Kelso and Sons; and 21 fresh heifers and cows from the major reduction sale of William Cromie’s Clayview Herd.
Auctioneer Michael Taaffe said: “The catalogue features something for everyone, with daughters bred from top AI bulls Deman, Nolan, Calumet, Bookem, Morgan, Supershot, Donatello, Alltime, Brewmaster, Kimball and Penmanship.”
John Berry, Armagh, is selling eight springing heifers, due November and December, from the on-going dispersal of his Skybrook Herd.
William Cromie is also selling 30 heifers ready for service. These well-grown heifers are bred from leading AI sires DG Charley, De Su Topsy, Applejax, Boastful, Bookem Sixto and La Bron.
