ON the evening of Thursday, March 2, Castle Leslie Equestrian Centre hosted a unique demonstration of the most cutting-edge approach to Autism, ADHD, Trauma and other Neuro-Psychiatric and Neuro-Divergent conditions with renowned Equine Therapy Specialist, Rupert Issacson.
A packed audience of over 100 people came to learn all about Rupert Issacson’s Horse Boy Method, Movement Method and Athena (all based on sound neuroscience), which build on the many strengths not the deficits to produce lasting success in quality of life, academics and careers.
The demonstration was interactive and fun, with the audience learning the neuroscience behind these methods, engaged in some of the brain and nervous system exercises these approaches use and went home with tangible tools that work.
Practiced in more than 30 countries, these approaches are fast replacing the more rigid therapeutic modalities that view neuro divergence only as a negative because they get results – in the home, in the classroom and in life.
Commenting on the demonstration, Sammy Leslie said: “I have loved working with horses all my life. We were so thrilled to have Rupert Issacson (Horseboy) and Terri Brosnan (from ChildVision) visit Castle Leslie Equestrian Centre. Rupert’s system has had incredible results, as too has Child Vison in delivering equine assisted therapy. Our own staff have spent this last week being trained in these methods to be certified under both ‘ChildVision Therapy’ and ‘Horse Boy Therapy’.”
