CASTLE Leslie Equestrian Centre in Glaslough, Co. Monaghan, just a short drive from Armagh, was in full swing on Friday evening, September 6, as they got their Autumn competition schedule underway. The first leg of a dressage league, kindly sponsored by Gain Horse Feeds, was held, with classes to suit all levels, from Introductory right up to Medium, including a Newcomers Prelim class. There will be Listed judges every week, which should add to the competitive spirit.

There was a great turnout for this first leg, with 19 entries in one of the Prelim classes! Some impressive tests were ridden on the night and organisers are excited to see how the league develops.

PLACED: Right, Marrie Nolan on ‘Spike’ came fifth in Prelim 2 at the first leg of the Castle Leslie dressage league. (FW37-527NN)

The next leg of the dressage league will be held on Friday, September 20, followed by October 25, November 8, November 22 and the final on December 6.

ONE-TWO: Michael Boyd rode ‘Luigi’ to win Prelim 2 at the Castle Leslie dressage league. Michael also came second on another mount in the same class. (FW37-526NN)
