THE Northern Ireland Charollais Sheep Club held their Annual Dinner and Awards Night at the La Mon House Hotel.
It was good to see the event well supported by members and friends. Club Chairperson welcomed everyone with a special welcome for Dumfries breeder Ben Radley and his dad Scott who had kindly agreed to judge the Annual Flock Competition, sponsored by Norbrook.
After a very enjoyable meal the prizes wwere awarded.
The Lornbrook Flock, following a very successful show season, were awarded Male of the Year, Female of the Year and the Glenbrook Trophy for Show Team of the Year.
Harold and Rebecca McBratney donated a new trophy awarded to the winner of the Young Breeders Class at Dungannon Premier.
The Chairman’s Trophy was awarded to David and Liz Mawhinney for their dedication to the breed.

Ben thanked the Club for inviting him and his dad over to judge the flock competition. They had thoroughly enjoyed themselves and much appreciated the hospitality shown to them. The standard of the sheep presented was excellent.
Winning Overall Champion Flock was the Tullyear Flock of Drew and Stephen Cowan from Banbridge. The Tullyear Flock also won the stock ram trophy with their senior stock ram, Duiske V Man.
Junior stock ram was won by Gareth Beacom with his ram Oakchurch Admiral, jointly shared with David Argue, County Cavan.
Catching the judge’s eye for the Overall Ewe Lamb trophy was the Ballyhunsley Flock of David Anderson.

The Club are now looking forward to their Annual Female Sale in Dungannon Market on Monday October 31 where there are 37 in-lamb shearlings and 79 ewe lambs catalogued for sale.
