Jordan and Joanne Christie, from Ballybogey, decided to raise some money for charity this year with their Christmas lights display.
Aware that charities were having a difficult time raising funds due to the Covid pandemic, they set their sights low initially.
Jordan says: “I picked Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice as my charity because Christmas is all for the kids and it made me think of the children and families that aren’t able to celebrate Christmas properly due to illness and bereavement. I set myself a target of £400 to start off with, but could not believe how quickly I achieved this!
“I had exceeded this target within one week. My final total raised is £4,013.72 – I have been completely overwhelmed with people’s generosity. Never in a million years did I ever think I would achieve a figure like that.
“The support I have received from everyone has been immense. I would like to thank every single person who donated towards this figure.
“This will make such a difference to families that the Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice work with.
“I would also like to say a big thank you to Kevin and Steven from McAuley Multimedia and Geoffrey from Causeway Coast Community for helping push my fundraising for me – they have all been fantastic.
“Roll on Christmas 2021 for a bigger and better display!”
