Christmas Show Jumping League continues at Ardnacashel

ARDNACASHEL Equestrian, Comber seemed to be extremely lucky, being bypassed by Storm Arwen on Saturday, November 27, allowing them to go ahead with their planned Christmas Show Jumping League show when many others sadly had to cancel.

The morning started with the Cross-Poles class and a lovely clear round for Pippa Robinson on ‘Kruizer’. This pair then went on to the 50cm, finishing this class with four faults.

Hannah Bayfield and ‘Bobby Dazzler’ were the only clear round in the 60cm class. In the 70cm, Harley McKeag on ‘Shadow’ took the red rosette closely, with a super clear round and a very quick 29.11 seconds over the timed second half.

In a very large 80cm class, Suzanne Davies and her ever-consistent ‘Haydens Star’ took the honours with an amazing time of 18.97 seconds over the second half. Many tried to beat this, but Suzanne held her place, with Holly Blythe coming in behind her in a time of 19.32 seconds. Holly then went on to win the spot prize for best Christmas jumper!

The 90cm was another well supported class and was won by Jennifer Gilchrist on ‘Lackamore Vandango’, with a time of 18.72 seconds. She was closely followed by Charlotte Glenn on ‘Chequerhill Water Lily’ in a time of 19.43 seconds.

In the 1m, 1.10m and 1.20m classes, Emma Jackson took the honours – with ‘Brad’ in the 1m and ‘Democrat’ winning both the 1.10m and 1.20m.

Thank you to all competitors who attended for braving the weather and coming along. Week three of the league is this Saturday, December 4. A reminder to all taking part in the Christmas League that you need to attend three out of the four weeks, including the final to be eligible for a prize.

The fancy dress dressage show will take place on Sunday, December 5 – full details are on the website:
