SATURDAY, August 20, saw a classic
silage day take place near Lough-brickland, County Down. The event was kindly hosted by Mark Stewart.
As the day progressed the weather improved with late sunshine in the evening.
There were some very uncommon tractors and harvesters used on the day to lift the silage. Early self propelled harvesters from the 1970s such as Mengele and New Holland were in action along with trailed harvesters made by John Deere and Taarup, complete with classic trailers.
It was also good to see Ford, County, Muir Hill, International and early New Holland tractors at work, some of which had been recently restored to a very high standard.
