Cloughbane Farm Foods in Pomeroy won the Excellence in Product Innovation Award at the Henderson Wholesale Fresh Innovation awards at Balmoral.
The awards celebrate all things local within the Henderson Group, owners of the Spar, Eurospar and Vivo brand across Northern Ireland.
The company gained the prestigious award for its Cloughbane Little Farm range of high-quality children’s foods which balanced taste, nutrition and local ingredients, alongside convenience.
Speaking of the win, Lorna Robinson, managing director of Cloughbane Farm, said:
“We have been producing award-winning cooked dishes and pies for Henderson’s for almost 10 years, and are delighted to be recognised for our product innovation at this year’s award ceremony.
“When our own family grew, and my grandchildren were born, I was reminded of how difficult it can be for busy families to find tasty, nutritious and quick meal options for children.
“And so, with the same passion for quality and taste that goes into all our products, we started to develop Cloughbane Little Farm.”
A range of four meals was developed, including Mac & Cheese, Chicken & Veggie Mash, Veggie Bake and Mince & Veggie Mash, which is also gluten and dairy free. These products are available at your local Spar, Eurospar & Vivo stores across Northern Ireland.
Ross Irwin from Irwin Bakery was named Young Agri-Food Innovator for 2019.
Gilfresh Produce, Portadown, won the Tomorrow Matters Award for its CSR and sustainability programmes.
Hovis in Belfast was awarded the Excellence in Regional Delivery accolade.
The awards celebrate Henderson’s fresh food suppliers, farmers and growers and reward their product innovation, accessibility of goods and sustainable practices.
