THE summer of 2018 has once again been a busy, competitive and fun one for the dedicated members of Coleraine Young Farmers’ Club.

July was a busy month with members attending the Northern Ireland Stockjudging and Silage Assessment finals at the start of the month.

WATER RIDE: Kitted out for the rain and the water ride at Tayto Park.

Once again, members’ hard work paid off coming away with nine places from 1st-4th. Next on the agenda was the annual County Londonderry Agricultural Show. The club’s success continued at the show where it was awarded the YFC’s Home Industries Cup. Members also helped steward alongside judges and assisted at the YFC stand at the show.

The last Sunday of July saw the club’s first summer club outing to Tayto Park in County Meath. A trip that both young and older members thoroughly enjoyed.

The first weekend in August saw the return of the ever-popular Coleraine Young Farmers BBQ. Yet again, members were overwhelmed by the support of their fellow past and present Young Farmer members and the wider community for this event. Everyone had a very enjoyable night and thanks must go to Beatz Entertainment, everyone who came along to support and last but no means least, Coleraine’s own club members for their hard work and dedication to make the night a success.

To round off a busy summer, the club’s last outing took place to The Lake, Kilrea. Members enjoyed a refreshing dip in the fresh water to dust off those cobwebs, leaving them nice and clean just in time for getting stuck into the busy winter programme.

The winter programme will kick off on Monday, September 10 in Coleraine Club Hall on Circular Road, Coleraine. If you are between the ages of 11-30 and are looking to join a young fun and opportunistic youth organisation then feel free to come along at 8pm. This will be a relaxed evening of games, food and information on the opportunities provided by the YFCU.

ALL SET: Junior girls all set for a big day at Tayto Park.

Present members can’t wait to see both old and new faces joining us ready to kick start, hopefully, what will turn out to be another successful year in the life of Coleraine YFC.
