Collone members keep busy in competitions

OVER the past few weeks Collone Young Farmers’ members have been very busy taking part in various competitions with many successes.

In the dairy stock judging heats, members Grace and Rebecca George, Jamie Milligan, Ashley Neill and Sonia Mills were all placed at county level.

Grace and Rebecca George were also placed second in

the under-16 age division in the soil assessment competition.

At this year’s AGM, Collone was awarded the Limavady Cup for proficiency in the

12-14 age category and club leader Joel Milligan came in the top six for Club Leader of the Year. Collone was also placed in the top seven for Club of the Year.

Club meetings continued via Zoom. Members have been able to enjoy fun-filled nights involving quizzes, games, fitness and at one of the latest meetings special guest Linda Walker, a tropic ambassador, talked to the girls about beauty and skincare whilst the boys enjoyed a virtual tour of a pig farm.

Some members have also taken part in additional workshops held by YFCU involving special effects, old age and beauty make-up, which will hopefully come in useful in the future, especially for the arts festival competition!

If you have any queries about joining, please contact club secretary Karen on 07510 624292.
