THE Young Farmers’ Clubs Of Ulster’s Annual General Meeting took place on Sat-urday, April 22, in Armagh City Hotel with the highlight of the weekend being Collone YFC named Club Of The Year and being presented with the Ann Cameron Cup.
What an achievement for Collone out of 51 clubs across the country to be named the best! The club would like to thank Club Secretary Karen Walker, Club Leader Joel Milligan and Club president Joanne Shilliday for all their hardwork and dedication.
That was not the only success as club members were awarded individual prizes. Grace and Rebecca George were placed joint first in the 12-14 age category for the President’s Award, which recognises
the dedication of members to YFCU competitions and events.
In the 16-18 age category Collone took all the awards with Karen Walker placing first, Sophie Haw-thorne second, and Sarah Ross third.
Ian Walker picked up third in the
25-30 age category and was elected vice-chair of the Agriculture and Rural Affairs Central Committee.
In the Duke Of Edinburgh Awards, Chloe Hawthorne received her Gold Award whilst James McConnell and Ashley Neill received Silver.
What a fantastic weekend for Collone YFC!
