The second Hillsborough Farmers’ Market of the summer, hosted by Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council, is being held on Saturday (June 29) from 10am-3pm in the picturesque setting of the Dark Walk at Hillsborough Fort.
Following the success of the May market, marketgoers can once again expect an array of fresh, artisan foods and home-grown favourites, including speciality rare-breed meats, seasonal and local vegetables, award-winning charcuterie, preserves, chutneys and pickles, Irish artisan cheeses, fresh bread and cakes. Additional offerings to include horticulture and handmade organic skincare.
Local producers attending the second Hillsborough Farmers’ Markets will include Barn & Bread, which will showcase its homemade gluten free, veggie and vegan dishes, including Crabbie Fries, Buddha Bowl and Loaded Sweet Potato Fries.
A delicious selection of handmade chocolate and luxury milkshakes will also be on offer from Lisburn & Castlereagh chocolatier Wee ChoCo.
Popular artisan producers, many of whom have grown to be regulars at the annual Hillsborough Farmers’ Markets, include Ke Nako Biltong, The Hatch, Indie Fude’s artisan Irish cheese stall and Castlescreen Farm, known locally for its grass-fed Dexter beef.
Specialised horticultural and crafts offerings from Saintfield’s Cottage Garden Plants, in klover and Ellie Mac Candles, among others, will also be available to purchase by visitors of the Hillsborough Farmers’ Market.
