QUALITY: Richard Henning, Chairman of the NI Beef Shorthorn Club, popped in to Country Meats, Aghagallon, to congratulate David Moore on his purchase with breeder of the Champion, Henry Sinnamon from Pomeroy.

CUSTOMERS of Country Meats, Aghagallon, are in for a treat this Christmas as once again owner David Moore has snapped up champion beef for his busy butcher’s shop.

A regular purchaser at the Royal Ulster Beef & Lamb Championships, David secured the Beef Shorthorn Champion at the recent Premier primestock event which attracts the very best beef and lamb from throughout the country.

This entry was bred by Henry Sinnamon and sons Henry Jr and Ben, and was a popular winner on the day as the steer oozed style and breed character. He tipped the scales at 558 kilos and killed out at 65.5 per cent with a grade of U2+.

David is delighted with his purchase, which he has described as “simply some of the best we have ever bought at these championships. The kill out was tremendous and we are very excited about the quality as the texture and appearance of the carcase is super”.

NI Beef Shorthorn Club Chairman Richard Henning recommends calling at Country Meats in order to purchase some of this breed champion, which has already created considerable interest with regular customers.

The Christmas order book is filling up fast! Orders can also be made by calling David on 02892 650186.
