MORE than 40 members and friends of DAB Farmers, located outside Dungiven, had a very enjoyable visit to
the Ploughing Championships in County Laois last week.
On the first day the group had the opportunity to visit the famous pedigree Gigginstown Aberdeen Angus herd where, alongside a horse stud and cereal enterprise, the 150-strong herd of cattle are farmed on 1,500 acres.
After an overnight stay and an early start, the party travelled onward to the Ploughing, which was last held in 2019 due to the pandemic.
After a full day of exploring the largest outdoor machinery and livestock exhibit-ion in Europe, discovering both new concepts and catching up on the wider agri scene, the coach headed northwards to conclude a very successful two days.
