
OFFALY’S Darragh Kenny showed why he is among the best riders in the world, by taking victory in the five-star 1.55m Speed class at Valkenswaard in The Netherlands on Friday, September 11.
World No. 7 Kenny partnered the Little Valley Farms-owned gelding ‘Belo Horizonte’ to the winning clear in 67.79 seconds, to finish well clear of French runner-up Kevin Staut with ‘Tolede de Mescam Harcour’ (69.32). German ace Marcus Ehning took third place with ‘Misanto Pret A Tout’ (70.40), while Tipperary’s Denis Lynch was also among the prizes, taking seventh place with ‘Cristello’ (74.35).
Valkenswaard hosted the Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix on Saturday, September 12 with Darragh Kenny, Denis Lynch and Shane Breen among the starters.
