Dexter Cattle Society final show of 2018

THE Dexter Cattle Society held its final show of 2018 at Gosford Park, Armagh, in conjunction with the Rare Breeds’ Survival Trust. There was the usual excellent turnout for the classes and the judge, local man James Eccles from County Antrim, was kept busy all morning. He was ably assisted in the ring by the steward Valerie Eccles.

The first class Dry Cow was won by Ballyhartfield Binky from the Bloomer family.

Saltire Spectre from the McCullough family repeated her win of last year in the Cow with Calf at foot class. The Senior Heifer went to Dunlarg Hazel belonging to Nigel McIlrath and the Maiden Heifer was Ballyloughan Kittiwake belonging to the Montgomery family.

The Bull class was once again taken by the very successful bull Ballyloughan Chevalier owned by Damien Tumelty.

The Heifer calf class was won by Bunlougher Annie and Fintan Murphy and the Bull calf class was won by the Bloomer family with Cadien All Star.

The winner of the Dexter Pairs went to Damien Tumelty of Castlescreen Dexters.

The overall Champion went to the Bull Ballyloughan Chevalier and the reserve champion was Saltire Spectre. The calf champion was Cadien All Star and reserve Calf champion was Bunlougher Annie.
