Double victory for Mervyn at Narrow Water dressage

Narrow Water dressage BR Farm
RUNNERS UP: Honor Magee and one of Narrow Water’s school ponies were runners up in the Intro B class at the dressage league. (FW39-594NN)

A fantastic day of glorious sunshine welcomed competitors to the second leg of the Botanica sponsored dressage league at Narrow Water Stud and Equestrian Centre. A mixture of tests were ridden from children on riding school ponies to experienced competition riders ranging from Intro level to Elementary.

The standard was high throughout and it was great to see such an improvement from some of the younger riders. The judge for the day was Dressage Ireland list 2 judge, Michael Moore, who was very impressed with the standard of the venue and the horse and rider combinations.

ELEMENTARY: Laura King and ‘Bella’ on their way to winning the Elementary class at the Narrow Water dressage league. (FW39-593NN)

Narrow Water’s dressage leagues have become very popular with everyone from children just starting out in dressage, to amateur adult riders wanting to have an enjoyable relaxed show and, of course, the more experienced competition riders, wanting to give their younger horses an education in a relaxed atmosphere.

Michael Boyd, who is the owner of the centre, is always available to offer a helping hand, whether it be to call out tests or for some last minute advice and warm up. Michael competes to Advanced level dressage and is a British Horse Society APC (accredited professional coach). Narrow Water is situated on 700 acres of estate, including a forest, which competitors can take advantage of for an enjoyable hack to cool down after competing.

Michael would like to thank all the competitors and Botanica International for sponsorship.

The final of the league will be held on October 4 and includes music freestyle classes, sponsored by Pegasus Dressage Music.
