ANDREW Sloane, along with wife Grace and their two daughters Sarah-Jane and Willow, farm in Dromore, County Tyrone.
They established their flock of pedigree Dorsets, Dullaghan horn & poll, in February 2015.
The Sloane family run 100 ewes and three rams and attend local shows and sales throughout Northern Ireland and are customers at Fane Valley Stores Omagh.
Lambing their ewes in September and their ewe lambs in January, Andrew and Grace are feeding Smyths Mmunchy Pedigree ‘baby lamb crunch’ to all lambs from one month old and then feeding Smyths Mmunchy Pedigree ‘follow on lamb crunch’ to all ewe lambs through to weaning as well as ad-lib to the ram lambs that are being prepared for shows and sales.
The Sloane family has been feeding the Smyths Mmunchy range for two years and Andrew remarked: “We have tried quite a few different types and brands of meal, but this is the first time I have found a meal that is consistent and keeps the flesh on the lambs.
“I find the Smyths Mmunchy Pedigree range ideal as they cater for all stages of lambs and we get excellent results from it.”
Fane Valley stock the full range of premium coarse crunches, including the market leading Smyths ‘Mmunchy’ range for calves, lambs and show cattle, along with the high-performance ranges for commercial lambs and high-performance beef cattle.
Eimear McGovern, Fane Valley Omagh Store Manager, said: “We have had a lot of interest and brilliant feedback about our Smyths Daleside Mmunchy range.
“Our Pedigree Lamb feed contains a unique combination of essential vitamins and minerals to encourage growth, maintain a strong immune system and helps prevent urinary calculi and copper toxicity. Smyth’s Pedigree range is designed for feeding champions.”
The full range of products are now available for collection in 25kg bags from 16 Fane Valley Stores across Northern Ireland.
