ON the weekend of November 26-27, Michael Hoey, from Lusk in County Dublin, held two open days so that tractor enthusiasts could once again view this superb collection of classic tractors. This was the first time in three years that enthusiasts could do so due to the Covid pandemic.
There have been some major changes since 2019, the first being that the numbers able to attend the event were limited and by ticket-only admission.
This decision was not taken lightly, but was deemed necessary due to health and safety concerns because of the very large number of people attending in the past.
If the event was to continue changes had to be made and the Hoey family hopes that by doing so it will be able to let enthusiasts enjoy the collection for many years to come, as well as raising money for charity.
Secondly, the vast majority of the collection is now housed in three large themed buildings, dedicated to John Deere, Massey Ferguson, Ford/New Holland and County. This means that there is more space to view the tractors and machinery easily.
There are still some smaller buildings and they house tractors like International, Leyland, Nuffield and Zetor and the farm’s modern working fleet.
This is truly one of the best collections you could wish to see if you like classic tractors.
