KR Equine Vets were delighted to welcome David Rendle CertEM (IntMed) DipECEIM MRCVS, RCVS and European specialist in Equine Internal Medicine to present a unique CPD (continuing professional development) evening for equine Veterinary Surgeons and to oversee a successful client gastroscopy day at the clinic.
The CPD evening, facilitated by Gransha Equestrian Centre, saw a pleasing attendance of vets, who travelled the length and breadth of Ireland to attend, availing of the opportunity to listen to David speak about equine gastric ulcer syndrome (EGUS) and advances in the treatment of equine metabolic syndrome (EMS). Much discussion and interest was generated during the event and an informative and enjoyable evening was had by all.
David attended the clinic the following day in Comber, where he spent a very busy day performing gastroscopes alongside vets Chris Akkari and Hannah Anderson. In total, 16 horses were gastroscoped, ranging from a wide variety of equine disciplines and established yards across Northern Ireland.
The two days were fantastically well supported, and the clinic is indebted to David for imparting his specialist expertise over the course of the two days. Undoubtedly, David will be a welcome guest back at the clinic in the near future!
