Exciting Jump Cross final at Kernan’s

KERNAN Equestrian Centre, Crossmaglen held an exciting final night of their Jump cross league, which was very kindly sponsored by Horseware, on Friday, June 29.

The cross-pole class was won by local lady Alicia Kernan on ‘Chilli’ and second was the young gun from Keady, Katie Treanor on ‘Blackie’. In the 40cm class, clear rounds came from Kenny Treanor on ‘Blackie’, Faye McKeever on ‘Pixie Pop’ and Louis Conroy on ‘Franco’. Faye McKeever took the Leading Rider spot, with Louis Conroy in runner up position.

The 50cm class was hotly contested, with clear rounds coming from ‘Danny Boy’ and Mischa Lennon, ‘Benji’ and Brook Rafferty, ‘Pixie Pop’ and Faye McKeever and ‘Franco’ and Louis Conroy.

Dermot Lennon was on hand to present the children with their prizes. The Leading Rider of this class was Brook Rafferty on ‘Benji’, with Faye on ‘Pixie’ taking the runner up spot.

The 60cm Leading Rider was also awarded to Brook on ‘Benji’. In the 70cm class, another lady took the awards – Orla Nesbit and her pony ‘Flash’. Newry lady Edel Reele won the 80cm class on ‘Robin’ and Pamela Steenston riding ‘Golden Brady’ took the 90cm trophy, with Barbara Johns on ‘Rambo’ taking the second prize.

Clear rounds on the night also came from Nadine O’Connor and ‘Santana’, Grace Fitzpatrick on ‘Pandora’, Shane Treanor on ‘Pip’ and Shannon Treanor on ‘Teacup’.
