GRANSHA Equestrian Centre, Bangor is holding some fun events throughout December.
The most festive event of the year will be the Christmas Party on the afternoon of Saturday, December 3. Supported by Equine Awards NI, the centre is open from 2pm until 5pm, for families to see a riding display put on by horse owners at Gransha, followed by a visit from Santa, who will be arriving in a horse-drawn sleigh with gifts for the children. The families will have an opportunity to ride in the carriage around the grounds.
The Gransha Riding Club is organising games on foot, followed by Carol Singing and snacks. Admission is £3 per child at the gate, so please bring cash!
There is a very well supported ballot in aid of The Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice. Some fantastic prizes have been donated, so again, remember that cash!
On Thursday, December 15 there is the annual Ride and Drive, which is always an exceptionally exciting evening. Riders race round a small course of show jumps then jump off their horse and the driver sprints to the quad and rallies around an obstacle course! The fastest pair wins and there is always serious competition.
For the Dressage competitors, there is the final of the Equine Awards NI League on December 17, which is a ‘Festive Dress Day’ with a prize fund of £1500!
