THE final of the dressage league at Lusk Equestrian took place on Sunday, November 27. The weather had been kind throughout the League and, although it was cold on Sunday, it was a fine late autumn day.
Competitors were delighted to have the chance to compete on the longer 60m arena on perfect going and the 12-year-old and under tests, sponsored by Fran Warden from Newtownards, proved very popular as the league went on.
Sarah Irvine from Saintfield on her flashy chestnut gelding ‘Harry’ won both the Novice and Elementary finals. In the Under 12s, it was a close contest between Grace Jackson and Charlie Watson, with Gransha girl Grace just claiming the red rosette.
Erin Mathieson, who was consistently in the rosettes each week with her lovely four-year-old ‘Dinky’ won the Newcomers league and was placed third in the Preliminary.
The next event at Lusk’s will be their Christmas Derby on Sunday, December 11 to wrap up competitions for 2022 with 1 metre, 90cm, 80cm and 70cm classes. Entries to Sarah on 07840 117132.
