AFTER a very successful year in gaining establishment, the Six Counties NI Dexter Group held its first AGM recently.
The group has proved to be very popular with over 40 members in the first year and a very forward looking committee. Since holding the first AGM the Six Counties NI Dexter Group can now hold full affiliation to the main society.
The meeting was opened by Willeen Montgomery in the chair, who welcomed all the members and gave a resume of developments over the year.
The group had held a successful halter training day and information on ‘Starting with Dexters’ at Loughside Farm in August. Then a farm walk and barbecue was held at Castlescreen Farm in September.
The website, Facebook and Instagram have all proved popular with increased numbers of followers and a Whatsapp group now included.
Jeff McCullough, as treasurer, stated that the group was in a very solvent financial position.
Funds had been collected from membership and the sale of AI straws.
The secretary Jackie Gibson said the group was expanding well and gave details of all that was available from the group, which could be followed on social media.
There were two vacant seats on the committee and Sean O’Neill and Rowan Moertl were duly elected.
An informal chat session then took place with questions and ideas being passed around.
The evening ended with tea and traybakes, including mince pies, and everyone headed home happy.
