Flax revival underway

50 May 6 1969 Flax SM Farm

Thanks to the efforts of the Northern Ireland Agricultural Trust and the willing cooperation of Ulster farmers, the flax revival in Ulster is really underway.

Last week FarmWeek photographer Andy Lindsay visited the O’Hare holding at Dromara where, with good ground conditions, the last of 20 acres were being sowed.

This excellent picture – so rich in detail – shows Mr Michael O’Hare, of Finnis House, making a close examination of the seed while, in the background, Mr Patrick O’Hare has a word with contractor Mr Seamus McEvoy.
