THE Foyle Food Group held a charity barbecue on Friday, September 3, at Glenpark Estate in Gortin, with all proceeds going to Air Ambulance NI.
Air Ambulance requires £2 million a year in order to provide its vital services to all of Northern Ireland.
Foyle Food Group would like to extend thanks to the sponsors, all who supported the night and those who attended. More than £15,000 was raised during the auction and raffle. Music from Richie Remo and Hugo Duncan was enjoyed by all. From the event Foyle Food Group will have raised a staggering £80,000 for the Air Ambulance NI.
Kerry Anderson from Air Ambulance NI said: “It was wonderful to see so many people being able to attend the Foyle Food Group Producers barbecue in aid of Air Ambulance NI. Sadly there isn’t a week that goes by where there isn’t an agricultural call out, whether that is in relation to cattle, slurry or agricultural machinery.
“The farming and agricultural community are incredible supporters and we thank everyone who helped to organise, donate, sponsor and attend.
“We realise the phenomenal amount of planning needed for an event of this size and applaud Foyle Food Group for leading this and achieving an incredible fundraising figure.
“Every pound will help the helicopter to lift off, on average twice per day, and reach critically ill patients, helping to save lives, brains and limbs.”
