‘Galloon Rollover’ has returned to Ireland

GALLOON Rollover’ (stable name ‘Barney’) is a Class 1 Registered Connemara stallion, by the sire ‘Murphys Oscar’ and out of dam ‘Galloon Wind of Change’; sire of dam ‘Moy Hazy Cove’.

He is a very handsome dark bay and was born in May 2004, making him 17 years old. He has a lifetime height measurement of 148cm. He has had tests for Hoof Wall Separation Disease (HWSD), which can affect Connemara ponies, to ensure he is clear of this disease and therefore cannot pass it on to his progeny. His owners are currently awaiting results.

‘Galloon Rollover’ was bred by James Naan in Newtownbutler, Co. Fermanagh and is now owned by Tommy and Niamh Sexton and stands at their Drumcrave Stud in Co. Cavan.

He was previously sold as a two-year-old to Katie Bacon in the South of England and had a hugely successful ridden career, including Champion M & M Ridden at Royal International 2012; winner Royal International Horse Show (RIHS) 2011; second at the Horse of the Year Show (HOYS) 2012; finalist at the RIHS 2010, 2011, 2012; finalist at HOYS 2010, 2011, 2012.

He returned to Ireland in July 2020 and covered six mares in July with 100% success. His first crop of foals are expected in June 2021.

Drumcrave Stud also has four other Class 1 stallions available, which have all tested negative for Hoof Wall Gene.

‘Coral Bambi’ is a 148cm grey (born dun) stallion by ‘Coral Ross’, out of ‘Holiday Leeann’. He is the sire of a HOYS qualifying pony, ‘Thunderbolt Fairy Robin Bambi’.

‘Turbo’ is one of very few Class 1 138cm stallions left in Ireland. He is grey and is by ‘Currachmore Cashel’, out of ‘Gracie’.
