There was a large turn-
out for the 48th annual County Down Traction En-gine Club Vintage Rally at Tullygarvan Road, Bally-
gowan, on what turned out to be a glorious day.
Three special features this year were Fordson Major EIA 70th anniversary, 50th anniversary of Muir Hill Series II tractors and the celebration of 60 years of the MGB.
There were over 400 vintage and classic vehicles in attendance on the day (vintage tractors, vintage cars, steam engines, commercials, stationary engines and motorcycles).
There were various working threshing demonstrations and tractor dynamometer testing.
Visitors had a variety of craft, trade and auto jumble stalls to browse through and the model toy display proved to be popular.
The entertainment was pro-vided by Comber Music Club, whose medleys of Country, Irish and other popular music had the audience singing along.
Visitors attended from England, Scotland and Republic of Ireland.
The event concluded with a
short road run around Bally-gowan.
A special thanks to the Scott family for the use of their land.
The organisers would like to
thank the exhibitors, stall holders, supporters and everyone who helped in any way to make this 48th annual event a resounding success.
