ON Sunday, August 15, a charity show was held at Eglinton Equestrian Centre to raise money for the Leslie Smith fund.
Leslie is hoping to raise enough money to go to Mexico for alternative cancer therapy to prolong his life. The show had an outstanding turnout and raised a phenomenal amount of £2000. There was classes from cross pole lead rein right up to a very competitive 1.10m jump off.
Sponsors included Templemore Equestrian Arena hire vouchers (x8), Eglinton Arena hire vouchers, Monica’s Hair voucher, the nu nuu £50 voucher and gift box, Chambers goodie bags and Chambers gift vouchers, Nonnas Pizza gift voucher, bowling alley vouchers, yankie candle hamper from Drumahoe Pharmacy, Bluegrass goodies and a tri equestrian voucher, stables in voucher, bath bombs and hundreds of sweeties beautifully gifted in candy striped boxes for every clear round in the kiddies classes and a star prize with £100 kindly donated from tesco.
The cafe never stopped and the atmosphere was at an all-time high with the excitement of all the competitors. A massive thank you to all the volunteers, judges, course builders, the cafe, everyone who donated and came to support.
With such a wonderful turnout, Eglinton are hoping to run another gymkhana on September 11-12.
