Great turnout for East Down Derby

THE East Down Pony Club JCM Joinery Ltd Derby was held on Monday, April 18 at Tyrella House, with kind permission of the Corbett family. A great day was had, with two courses on the go and over 200 competitors!

Andrew Napier from Hazeldene Farm built a splendid Fledgling course, with assisted, unassisted and 65cm-70cm tracks for all ages.

The bigger track was designed by Eventing Ireland’s Adam Stevenson and was very well attended. The weather was sunny and bright for most of the day, which was a real family day out. The East Down Branch committee would like to extend sincere thanks to all who sponsored, assisted, attended and volunteered at the event.

Judy Maxwell from Bailey’s Feeds and Lisa Taylor sponsored some lovely prizes, as did Holmestead Saddlery.

If you enjoyed the Derby event, you may wish to consider joining Eventing Ireland or trying out some of their EI80T tracks.

Pony Club also runs Area Trials and Tetrathlon events and East Down, in particular, is looking forward to hosting the PC Area 17 Home Championships on August Bank Holiday Monday at Hazeldene.
