SATURDAY, April 23, saw Holestone members attend the YFCU annual AGM at Armagh City Hotel.
At the prizegiving Holestone members collected numerous prizes. In the Ulster Young Farmer Competition Jack Stewart was placed third in both the arable and dairy sections. Clara McConnell was named third best treasurer in Northern Ireland. Laura Patterson received her Level 11 Proficiency Badge. Great achievements by all the members.
The club was also awarded the 18-30 Livestock Judging and Assessment Mulholland Cup for members’ outstanding performance in the stockjudging competitions.
Laura Patterson will now also represent the county by sitting on the Executive and Programming and Development Committee.
Members enjoyed a great weekend celebrating the success of YFCU as a whole. The club would like to wish the new presidential team well for the year ahead. Members look forward to fully embracing the new theme for the year, “Reignite”.
Over 30 members also attended Randalstown Sports Night, showing off their football skills. A great night was had by all members.
More recently the club has announced the upcoming fundraising event in which five members plan to abseil down the Europa Hotel on Sunday, May 27, raising monies for NI Children’s Hospice. A fundraising page has been set up with the link shared on social media, however sponsorship can be given to any of the members participating. Members taking part are Jack Stewart, Julianne Moore, Clara McConnell, Laura Patterson and President Peter McConnell.
