THE Meadows Equestrian Centre, Lurgan looks forward to welcoming athletes and horses from all over Ireland back to the Kinnego Embankment complex from this Friday, April 23 until Sunday, April 25 for the 2021 Meadows Spring Championships.
Alongside the usual classes held at the Meadows, the Irish Sport Horse Show Jumping Series will also take place over Saturday and Sunday for horses of five, six and seven years of age.
Many of Ireland’s top riders will compete at the highest level with their top young horses.
The series, is now in its 17th year in existence and, for this year, a total prize pot of €80,000 in prize money is on offer.
With qualifiers taking place on Saturday, April 24, the top 25 in each age category will go forward to the final on Sunday morning to battle it out for their share of the fund on offer for 2021!
Sunday will also see the 1.40m SJI National Grand Prix come north for the first time this season.
Having just commenced last weekend at Coilog Equestrian Centre, Kildare, the 1.40m National Grand Prix series is the cornerstone of the national show jumping calendar.
Travelling to all four corners of the country, the Grand Prix Series also boasts a lucrative prize for the overall league winner.
Sadly, due to Covid 19 restrictions, this will all take place behind closed doors, with spectators not permitted to attend.
Entries for all classes will only be accepted via the SJI Live app or via www.sjilive.ie and please check as some classes will close early.
