Huge success for NI Belted Galloway breeder Richard

It was a very successful day for Northern Ireland breeder Richard Creith at the Belted Galloway Annual Sale at Castle Douglas.

Held on October 29, Richard came away with the Overall Champion Belted Galloway Bull title.

His January 2020 Dun and White bull Ballylough Gold Dust, shown for him by Brian Moorhead, won his class in the junior bull section.

Ballylough Gold Dust is out of sire Southfield Poldark 2nd and dam Southfield Classic Gold.

This lovely well grown bull went on to take the overall male champion title against very stiff competition. Ballylough Gold Dust successfully sold for 4000gns in the ring.

Further success came for Richard when his White Galloway Bull Ballylough Brooke, a April 2020 born bull out of sire Ben Lomond Mhordhu and dam Ballylough Beauty, took the Champion White Galloway title and went on to sell for 2900gns.

Both bulls and females were in huge demand on the day with some record prices achieved.

Top priced bull Mochrum Earl reached 11,000gns and a new record female price was achieved for Clifton Marigold when the hammer was dropped at 10,500gns.
