SIX Irish Sport Horses have finished inside the top 10 in the feature NutriScience CCI4*-L at last weekend’s Ballindenisk International Horse Trials in Co. Cork. ‘Brookpark Vikenti’ (ISH)(TIH) took second place with Japan’s Kazuma Tomoto, while Galway’s Cathal Daniels finished best of the Irish riders in seventh place with ‘LEB Lias Jewel’ (ISH). The winner’s prize went to Italy’s Giovanni Ugolotti with ‘Swirly Temptress’ after they finished on their Dressage score of 27.2.
The NutriScience CCI4*-S saw Camilla Speirs and ‘BT Angelo’ (ISH) as the best-placed Irish combination in runner-up spot, while Britain’s Willa Newton and ‘Cock A Doodle Doo’ took the winner’s prize.
Ireland’s Ian Cassells and ‘Master Point’ (ISH)(TIH) led from start to finish to take victory in the CCI3*-L, as they came home on their Dressage score of 24.0. Cassells also took third place with ‘Kellys Quality’ (ISH) and fourth spot with ‘Millridge Atlantis’ (ISH). It was an excellent weekend for Cassells, who was also the highest-placed Irish rider in the CCI3*-S, taking runner-up position with ‘Brookwood Supersable’ (ISH).
Irish Sport Horses dominated the CCI2*-L filling all of the top three places, with the win going to ‘Global Fugitive’ (ISH) and Britain’s Daniel Alderson.
