Joanne and ‘Hope’ are the champions at Strule Valley

STRULE Valley Riding Club held a Working Hunter Show recently at the Ecclesville Centre, Fintona, which included Qualifiers for the Northern Ireland Festival at Cavan in April. Proceeds from the day will go to Air Ambulance NI and WWKD – What Would Kyra Do.

The club would like to thank Raymond Caldwell for course building; Katie Clarke, Nicola Martin and Emma Harte, judging; Heather Black, entries; Gillian Hynes and Alison Donnell, call up; Alan and Natasha Gilchrist, Pearl Donnell and Good Mood Food for catering.

Thanks to Valerie and Raymond McKinley, who came along with their collecting bucket for Air Ambulance NI/ WWKD and thanks to all those who very generously donated. Thanks also to the Ecclesville Centre for their sponsorship.

Well done to all who competed and congratulations to the winners of each class! Special congratulations to Joanne Anderson and her beautiful coloured cob ‘Hope’, who were announced Champion Working Hunter, with Stephanie Roulston and her lovely grey mare ‘Growhowdy Cailin Deas’ named Reserve.

Those who have qualified go now to the Northern Ireland Festival website to enter.

Strule Valley are celebrating 22 years with a Dressage Show on Saturday, March 23 at the RDA, Omagh. More details later. This is open to everyone, members and non-members. The RJ Monteith Perpetual Cup will be awarded to the highest placed Strule Valley Riding Club member.

A further Working Hunter Show is planned for Saturday, May 25 at Ecclesville, again this is open to everyone, members and non-members. Keep up to date with Strule Valley Riding Club on their facebook page.
